HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER
It is critical to our success to work in partnership with the travel industry and other stakeholders. You can join the Responsible Tourism Partnership Sri Lanka by enrolling yourself personally or your company to the RTP Forum. The membership of the RTP is by invitation. We request all our members to take an undertaking to be committed towards sustainable tourism development of Sri Lanka. Membership is effective upon a confirmation made by the RTP to the applicant upon acceptance of the duly completed RTP application form together with a commitment declaration made by the applicant and on payment of the membership fee. RTP is a non-profit making organization, a nominal enrolment fee is charged on a standard one off fee structure.
In becoming a member of the RTP : Tourist operators, Hoteliers and Airlines commit to develop a policy and associated strategy to integrate and implement sustainable tourism practices into their mainstream business activities with indicators to track progress: and to engage with other stakeholders to achieve the goals of the initiative.
NGOs, and other organisations with specialist knowledge, commit to engage with other stakeholders to achieve the goals of the initiative to create a step change in the implementation of sustainable tourism practices by the Sri Lanka tourism industry.
The Government agencies responsible for tourism such as the Ministry of Tourism and the Sri Lanka Tourist Board commit continued Government support to the initiative. This would stimulate the development of government policy on sustainable tourism and will co-ordinate Government input to the promotion of sustainable tourism in
